KHILWAT WALK

HALF DAY – 9AM – 12:30 PM
The Khilwat is situated at the southwest quadrant of Hyderabad, where the Asaf Jahi dynasty ruled for almost two centuries until the last Nizam shifted to king Kothi. Today, it is characterized by vast tracts of desolate area that have been partially encroached upon. This walk tries to rediscover the spirit & form of the khilwat. The walk begins at the Charminar, passes through the Shahi Jilau Khana (the original axial route is now blocked by shopping complexes) and follows the Moti Gali to the side entrances into the palaces. Within the compound exists the Shahi Khilwat Khana and other palaces. Along Moti Gali is the pension office. Large areas of the complex, including the Moti Mahal, gardens and service buildings such as the dairy have been destroyed due to road widening scheme. The walk is 1 km long and takes less than 1 hour.

Rate : Rs. 2300 plus taxes (currently @ 2.575%) per person.
