GARDEN TOMB OF DELHI - Humayun’s Tomb

Humayun’s Tomb, the first garden-tomb in the Indian subcontinent Take a guided tour of this grand monument where the ancient trees and broken ruins pose as lush adornments to the sandstone glow of the mausoleum- a tribute to the memory of the Mughal emperor Humayun. The tomb is a complex of buildings built as the Mughal Emperor Humayun's tomb, commissioned by Humayun's wife Hamida Banu Begum in 1562 CE, and designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyath, a Persian architect.It was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent, and is located in Nizamuddin East, Delhi, India, close to the Dina-panah citadel also known as Purana Qila, that Humayun founded in 1533. It was also the first structure to use red sandstone at such a scale The complex was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993.

THE TOWER OF VICTORY- Qutub Minar & Jamali Kamali

Built in the early 13th century and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Qutub Minar is one of the finest Islamic structures ever raised in India.Built to celebrate the victory of Muhammad Ghori over the Rajputs in 1192, it is the highest stone tower in India. Once the defining landmark of Delhi, it is still standing tall with its graceful lines and staggering height, with many monuments in the complex surroundings including Jamali Kamali tombs one believed to be of Jamali and other that of Kamali. The chamber is beautifully decorated with phenomenal stucco decoration in the interior, including the inscribed verses composed by Jamali. Also visit the step well in Mehrauli village -Gandhak ki Baoli which has a five-tiered structure with a circular well at its southern end.

Footsteps of the Mahatma- 11 Murti (Statue) – Salt March, Raj Ghat & Tees January Marg

Follow the footsteps of the Father of the nation-Mahatma Gandhi, in Delhi, as you visit 11 Murti (statue) built in remembrance of the Dandi Salt March of 1930 led by the Mahatma and his followers who did a 200 mile journey from Ashram in Ahmedabad to the Arabian Ocean where Gandhi wanted to pick up a few grains of salt as a campaign against the state monopoly on salt. Move on to the Rajghat, a memorial to the Father of the Nation, a simple square platform of black marble with, "Hey Ram" his last words, inscribed on it and then visit Tees January Marg, the colonial bungalow where he stayed as a guest during his Delhi visit before his assassination. It is now the official museum dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi where along with his pictures telling the story of his life and the independent movement; his worldly remains, including his glasses and the walking stick, can be seen.
